2004 Continental GT - BY04 BML

The ‘modern era’ section of the Heritage Collection begins with the first production example of the Continental GT, from 2003. When the Continental family turned 20 years old in 2023, it was decided to add a second early GT to the fleet – one that had been in customers hands for the duration of its life, to showcase just how strong the car still is two decades after being built.

BY04 BML – nicknamed ‘Stunt Double’ by the Heritage team in its supporting role of the invaluable first SOP car – is the car that was purchased from the open market, and brought back to where it was created. It had only changed hands once in its lifetime, with two previous owners, and had covered 29,000 miles with its brace of keepers.

The team was confident the car was a good example, despite 20 years of use. The revelation of how good it was came when it was brought into the workshop on return to Crewe – where a regular service and a small adjustment to the headlining being the only work the car needed.

Resplendent in Spruce Green – a very popular colour in the early years of the Continental GT – the car has a Cumbrian Green and Magnolia interior with classic Burr Walnut veneer.

Since purchase, the car has been in service as a popular and busy member of the Heritage Collection, supporting media drives, events and displays.
